Welcome to the virtual open house for the United States Navy’s Hawaii-California Training and Testing Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Overseas Environmental Impact Statement, referred to as “the Draft EIS.” The Department of the Navy (including both the Navy and Marine Corps), is the lead agency and is working jointly with the Coast Guard, Army, and Air Force to prepare the EIS. The Navy is hosting this virtual open house to provide you with information related to the Proposed Action, its purpose and need, its potential effects on environmental resource areas, the National Environmental Policy Act and National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 processes, and public involvement opportunities.
Public involvement is a fundamental aspect of the National Environmental Policy Act and National Historic Preservation Act. To improve and strengthen the Draft EIS, the military services welcome and appreciate the public’s participation. Please subscribe through this website if you would like to receive future project notifications.
Please also share how you learned about this virtual open house so the military services can identify the most effective ways to reach the public.
The military services are accepting comments during the Draft EIS public review and comment period. The public is encouraged to submit comments at one of the in-person public meetings, on the project website, or via postal mail from December 13, 2024, through February 11, 2025.
