The Navy’s goal is to be a responsible steward of the environment while providing the realistic experiences necessary for the readiness and safety of personnel.
To continue to achieve both of these goals, the Navy:
- Invests in scientific research.
- Collects data.
- Applies the most current science and latest technologies to improve its environmental impact analyses.
- Implements successful environmental and cultural stewardship programs.
The Navy is committed to protecting the marine and coastal environments of Alaska. The Navy has developed partnerships and built coalitions with government agencies, organizations, and communities to better manage and protect natural resources.
