Navy Aircraft Noise Monitoring at NAS Whidbey Island and NAS Lemoore

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2020 directed the Department of the Navy to provide a report to the congressional defense committees by March 20, 2020, on real-time sound monitoring at no fewer than two Navy installations on the west coast. Pursuant to this directive, the Navy will conduct real-time noise monitoring of aircraft-in-flight at Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, Washington, and at NAS Lemoore, California.

Navy Releases Finding of No Significant Impact for Advanced Helicopter Training System at NAS Whiting Field

The Navy has made available the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, which evaluates the potential environmental effects from the replacement of the TH-57 Sea Ranger training helicopters and implementation of the Advanced Helicopter Training System (AHTS) at Naval Air Station (NAS) Whiting Field, Santa Rosa County, Florida.

Navy Releases Final Environmental Assessment for Dare County Bombing Range

The Navy has completed and released to the public an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact for infrastructure improvements and maintenance actions at the Navy Dare County Bombing Range in North Carolina. The purpose of the EA is to enable the Navy to continue to provide realistic training scenarios and complete maintenance operations while enhancing range personnel safety and increasing operational range clearance capabilities.
