Navy-Funded Research Team May Have Discovered New Whale Species

WASHINGTON — Researchers funded by the Naval Sea Systems Command Monitoring Program believe they have discovered a new species of beaked whale in the waters off Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.

On Thursday, Jan. 23, Naval Station Norfolk’s environmental department was named the Inside Business River Star Hall of Fame winner for 2020.
