Proposed Action
Training at sea in realistic environments, testing new technologies, and undertaking range modernization and sustainment efforts are crucial for national defense.

The Proposed Action is to continue at-sea military readiness activities in the NWTT Study Area. At-sea military readiness activities include activities associated with training, testing, and undertaking range modernization and sustainment efforts. These activities would occur on and beneath the water surface and in the airspace within the Study Area.
- Train and test at sea to prepare military personnel for real-world national defense missions:
- Air warfare
- Anti-submarine warfare
- Electronic warfare
- Expeditionary warfare
- Mine warfare
- Surface warfare
- Range modernization and sustainment:
- Maintenance, replacement, and installation of in-water instrumentation and infrastructure for Southeast Alaska Acoustic Measurement Facility in Western Behm Canal near Ketchikan, Alaska
- Replacement of in-water array towers and the installation of cables and hydrophones in Dabob Bay in Washington state
