Public Involvement

An integral part to the NEPA process is public involvement. The Navy invites the public to participate in the process through multiple means:

  • Familiarize yourself with the project using this website and reviewing the Public Meeting Materials
  • Subscribe to the website to receive notifications when the Draft EIS and Final EIS have been published
  • Attend public meetings that were held Summer 2017

Public Meetings

During the public comment period, the Navy hosted five open house public meetings to inform the public about the Proposed Action and to receive public comments on the adequacy and accuracy of the analysis presented in the Draft EIS/OEIS. During each open house, informational poster stations and project team representatives were available to provide the public with an opportunity to learn more about the NEPA process, the proposed action and alternatives, and the analysis in development.

The public meetings were held during the public commenting period, which was from June 30, 2017 to Aug. 14, 2017.
