TRIDENT II Weapon Systems Testing Program EA/OEA
Welcome to the United States (U.S.) Department of the Navy's webpage for the Environmental Assessment (EA)/Overseas Environmental Assessment (OEA) for the TRIDENT II Weapon Systems Testing Program.
The Navy has proposed conducting flight tests and fielding evaluations for the TRIDENT II (D5) weapon systems testing program through the year 2039 in both the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean regions. Testing would consist of up to six tests per year during Calendar Years (CYs) 2025–2028, and up to eight tests per year during CYs 2029–2039. In addition to the sea-based testing, proposed land-based test flights would include a total of up to 10 tests between CYs 2032–2036. Sea-based flight tests would be launched from existing naval vessels operating in the Pacific and Atlantic broad ocean areas.
Thank you for participating in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process for the EA/OEA. The Draft EA/OEA is now available to download on the Draft EA Documents page.
