Media Availability Related to the Draft Environmental Assessment for Homeporting of USS John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) at Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton

March 14, 2025  –  

The Navy has released a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed homeporting of USS John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) at Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton (NBK-Bremerton).

The Navy will conduct an open house public meeting to provide information about the Proposed Action and environmental analysis. Project team members will be available at information stations to answer questions. The public may arrive at any time during the hours specified. There will not be a formal presentation. The meeting will be held on March 18, 2025, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Marvin Williams Recreation Center, 725 Park Ave., Bremerton, WA 98337.

The Navy will now be conducting a media availability at 4 p.m. on March 18, prior to the public meeting, at the Marvin Williams Recreation Center.  Media interested in attending should contact Ted Brown, Installations and Environment Public Affairs Officer at 757-836-4427 or at the following e-mail address: theodore.c.brown4.civ@us.navy.mil.  The previously announced media availability on March 17 is now canceled, due to changes in travel plans for the project team.
